Easy Dessert Recipes For Kids

Good crock pot Recipes and what is your favorite holiday dessert?
I am looking for fast recipes that I can throw in the crock pot during the day, and then have ready by about 6 pm…something easy, delicious and warm. I am putting brisket in the crock pot today and then adding potatoes, carrots and green beans. Any other Good Recipes?
Also what is your favorite dessert Recipe?
Do you bake any with your kids? What do your kids like? I have to make something for my daughters Sunday School christmas party, i know i’m thinking far in advance but apparently they are having a “dessert auction” for a fundraiser as well and then I need to bring something small for the party.
BBQ beans and polish sausage
2 cans great northern beans, drained
2 cans black beans drained and rinsed
1 onion chopped
bottle of bbq sauce
2-3 spoonfuls brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili pepper
1 ring polish sausage
Mix all ingredients in the crockpot
place ring of sausage on top or cut up and mix in.
meatballs for sandwhiches
2 lbs ground beef
1 egg
crackers or bread crumbs
I use spaghetti sauce
mix all ingredients except sauce
roll into meat balls
place in crockpot and cover with sauce
pulled pork sandwhiches with rootbeer sauce
2.5-3 lbs shredding pork
1 cup root beer
2 medium onions, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
place all ingredients in slow cooker
about 30 minutes before dinner place 1 bottle chili sauce and 3 cups root beer in a sauce pan to boil
once boiling, simmer until reduced to about a cup.
you can put this on burger buns with whatever you want. We like lettuce, tomato and provolone cheese. I never let it simmer all the way so we end up putting sauce in a little bowl and dipping our sandwiches. Very yummy.
This may not sound yummy to others, but my family loves it!
1-2 lbs of cubed or shredding beef, chicken or pork
bottle of salsa
package of taco seasoning
place all in the crockpot, cook and wrap up in a tortilla!
IDK if you are okay with spicy…
Buffalo chicken wraps
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
bottle of buffalo sauce
package dry ranch mix
place all in the slow cooker, once done shred the chicken and put it back in with sauce
we wrap in tortillas with lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing
I have plenty more that I just cant think of right now. If I do, I’ll edit and post.
Favorite dessert.

500 Low-Carb Recipes: 500 Recipes, from Snacks to Dessert, That the Whole Family Will Love $18.58 Low-fat or low-carb? A recent "New York Times Magazine "(July 7, 2002) cover story answered this question and said that Dr. Atkins was right all along, "its not fat that makes us fat but carbohydrates." Though the government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in research trying to prove that fat is the cause of obesity, there has been a subtle shift in the scientific consensus over the past five years supporting what the low-carb diet doctors have been saying all along: if we eat less carbohydrates, we will lose weight and live longer. One of the toughest challenges of any diet is having enough variety and choices to keep the dieter from losing interest. The most common reason that people abandon their diet is boredom but "500 LOW CARB RECIPES: 500 Recipes, From Snacks to Dessert, That the Whole Family Will Love" by Dana Carpender has more than enough recipes to keep even the most finicky dieter on track. With recipes for everything including hors dAEoeuvres, snacks, breads, muffins, side dishes, entrees, cookies, cakes and much more, this is an endless supply for creating meals for the whole family night after night. Whether everyone in the family is on a diet or not, these recipes are proven winners with adults and kids alike. Also included: Many one-dish meals for single people–main dish salads, skillet suppers that include meat and vegetables, and hearty soups that are a full meal in a bowl. Ideas for breaking out of old ways of looking at food with suggestions that save time and money and change what is considered a normal meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Information about where to find low-carbohydrate specialty products and descriptions of low-carb specialty foods found in grocery stores everywhere. An entire chapter that lists and describes low-carb substitute ingredients such as fats and oils, flour substitutes, liquids, seasonings and sweeteners. Dieters will be pleased to know that they can eat foods like guacamole, omelets, pizza, steak, ham and dessert without giving up great taste and still lose weight. There are enough recipes to create the perfect menu for any holiday of the year–including Thanksgiving. Each of the 500 recipes includes a carbohydrate count to help calculate the total carb intake of each menu. There are more recipes for main dishes and side dishes than most low-carb dieters will ever be able to eat–everything from down-home cooking to ethnic fare; from quick-and-easy weeknight meals to knock-their-socks off party food. The Healthy Kitchen: Recipes for a Better Body, Life, and Spirit $3.95 Two of America’s most popular authorities on healthy eating and cooking join forces in this inspiring, easy-to-use cookbook. This is not a diet book. It is a lively guide to healthy cooking, day-by-day, packed with essential information and, above all, filled with enticing food. Andrew Weil, M.D.–author of the best-selling Eating Well for Optimum Health–brings to this perfect collaboration a comprehensive philosophy of nutrition grounded in science. Rosie Daley–acclaimed for her best-seller, In the Kitchen with Rosie–brings to it her innovative and highly flavorful spa cuisine. The recipes are eclectic, drawing from the healthy and delicious cooking of the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and Asia, among other cuisines. For starters, you might try Grilled Satay or a Miso Pate; for soup, often a meal in itself, a hearty Mixed-Bean Minestrone Stew or a Roasted Winter Squash and Apple Soup with Cilantro Walnut Pesto; a special entree could be the Savory Roasted Cornish Hens with Roasted Garlic or Baked Spicy Tofu with Bean Thread Noodles, Corn, and Mango; for a simple supper, Turkey Burgers or Portobello Burgers; and for the occasional indulgence, a dessert of Almond Fruit Tart or Peach and Blueberry Cobbler. Andy and Rosie do not always agree. When Rosie calls for chicken, Andy offers a tofu alternative; she likes the flavor of coconut milk, whereas he prefers ground nut milk; when she makes a pastry with butter, he suggests using Spectrum Spread. There are no hard-and-fast rules. Lifelong health begins in the kitchen, so this is a lifestyle book as well as a cookbook. In it you will learn from Dr. Weil: – how to make use of nutritional information in everyday cooking – what is organic . . . and how to buy organic foods – the importance of reading labels and what to look for – sensible advice about eggs, milk, cheese, salt, spicy foods, wine, coffee – the facts about sugar and artificial sweeteners . . . and from Rosie: – how to get kids involved–from skinning almonds to layering lasagna – ways to have fun in the kitchen–creating scallion firecrackers and radish rosettes – low-fat and nondairy alternatives for those with special concerns – smart menu planning–letting the seasons be your guide . . . and lots more. This revolutionary book will change forever the way you cook for yourself and your family. With 58 photographs in full color. "From the Hardcover edition." |

Pure Dessert $30.2 A refreshing change in every respect When you are working with great ingredients, you want to keep it simple. You don’t want to blur flavor by overcomplicating. This is why Pure Dessert, from the beloved Alice Medrich, offers the simplest of recipes, using the fewest ingredients in the most interesting ways. There are no glazes, fillings, or frostings–just dessert at its purest, most elemental, and most flavorful. Alice deftly takes us places we haven’t been, using, for example, whole grains, usually reserved for breads, to bring a lovely nutty quality to cookies and strawberry shortcake. Pound cake takes on a new identity with a touch of olive oil and sherry. Unexpected cheeses make divine souffles. Chestnut flour and walnuts virtually transform meringue. Varietal honeys and raw sugars infuse ice creams and sherbets with delectable new flavor. Inspired choices of ingredients are at the heart of this collection of entirely new recipes: sesame brittle ice cream, corn-flour tuiles with tangy sea salt and a warming bite of black pepper, honey caramels, strawberries with single-malt sabayon. To witness Alice’s idea-stream as she describes how she arrived at each combination is to instantly understand why three of her books have won Best Cookbook of the Year. She’s an experimenter, tinkerer, and sleuth, fascinated with trial and error, with the effects of small changes in recipes, exploring combinations tirelessly and making remarkable discoveries. Does cold cream or hot cream do a better job coaxing out the flavor of mint leaves or rose petals? Why is it that dusting a warm brownie with spices gives it an enticing aromatic nose, whereas putting the spice in the batter blurs the chocolate flavor? Do cooked strawberries or raw make for the better sorbet? Loaded with advice and novel suggestions, with great recipes and eye-catching, full-color photographs that show off these simple, straightforward desserts, Pure Dessert is an education and a revelation. Thank you, Alice |

Bake until Bubbly: The Ultimate Casserole Cookbook $22.95 Bake until Bubbly “Everybody who grew up on tuna noodle casserole or macaroni and cheese remembers that bubbling dish brought to the table with its top dappled golden brown, piping hot and inviting. My passion for casseroles was born from memories of my childhood and my mother’s lasagna, thick and rich and gooey and delicious. But once I had three children of my own, casseroles were the solution to many frenzied nights. We all loved the simplicity, ease, and satisfaction of a well-baked casserole. One of my favorite dessert casseroles was the Pear Crisp my kids and I made in late August when our pear tree was groaning from the weight of those luscious orbs ripening. We’d cut them up and arrange them in a casserole with cinnamon and then blanket them with a streusel made of flour, butter, and sugar before baking until bubbly. Hey, what a great name for a book!”—from Bake until Bubbly Advance Praise “Bake until Bubbly . . . the name says it all. Visions of creamy, tender casseroles with crusty, crunchy tops immediately come to mind and Clifford Wright’s book delivers. You will find easy-to-make one-dish recipes like the rustic but elegant Veal Saltimbocca and Cassoulet and comfort food such as Blue Cheese Halibut Bake; Sausage, Red Bean, and Apple Casserole; Cranberry-Apple-Walnut Crisp; and Blackberry and Cream Cheese Crêpes Casserole. I love the fact that you can find everything from breakfast casseroles to vegetarian options to desserts. The Potato, Bacon, and Gruyère Casserole is coming to my next potluck.”—Dede Wilson, Contributing Editor to Bon Appétit magazine and public television host “Just when I thought there was little left to be exploited in casserole cookery, Clifford Wright comes up with an herby tamale pie with cornmeal mush, an Irish rutabaga pudding, a baked rigatoni with meatballs, a nectarine and almond dessert casserole, and numerous other fascinating dishes |

Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies $25.95 2010 IACP Baking Book of the YearWith recipes organized by texture! Flaky, gooey, crunchy, crispy, chewy, chunky, melt-in-your-mouth . . . Cookies are easy, enticing, and fun. Yet as the award-winning baker Alice Medrich notes, too often, home cooks cling to the recipe on the bag of chocolate chips, when so much more is possible. “What if cookies reflected our modern culinary sensibility—our spirit of adventure and passion for flavors and even our dietary concerns?” Medrich writes in her introduction to this landmark cookie cookbook, organized by texture, from crunchy to airy to chunky. An inveterate tester and master manipulator of ingredients, she draws on the world’s pantry of ingredients for such delicious riffs on the classics as airy meringues studded with cashews and chocolate chunks, palmiers (elephant’s ears) made with cardamom and caramel, and rugelach with halvah. Butter and sugar content is slashed and the flavor turned up on everything from ginger snaps to chocolate clouds. From new spins on classic recipes including chocolate-chip cookies and brownies, to delectable 2-point treats for Weight Watchers, to cookies to make with kids, this master conjurer of sweets will bring bliss to every dessert table. |

Joan Lunden’s Healthy Cooking $4.99 Six years ago, no one in Joan Lunden’s weekly audience of 25 million could guess how frustrated she was with her weight. Three pregnancies, three kids, a high-pressure career, and an unhappy marriage seemed to undermine her every effort to lose weight. But then Lunden decided to fight back. Today, she’s fit and trim – and feels great. She still considers herself a work in progress, but her newfound energy fuels her career, her athletic passions, and her total state of well-being. Lunden has spent years in the kitchen cooking for her family, and the philosophy behind her recipes is simple: in addition to being low in fat, high in nutrition, and utterly delicious, each dish is easy to prepare (everyone is pressed for time), uses readily available ingredients (what is quinoa, anyway?), and adapts well to substitutions (if you hate peppers, use carrots instead). Each of the more than 100 recipes comes complete with nutritional information, serving size, and substitution possibilities. There are tasty appetizers like Quesadillas, soul-satisfying soups such as Italian Minestrone, and more than a dozen tempting salads, including Curried Chicken Salad with Mango. For main courses, Lunden serves up Spaghetti with White Bean Sauce, Chili Burgers, Chicken Fajitas, Roasted Salmon with Herb Crust, and other family favorites. Her daughter’s vegetarianism inspired meatless main dishes such as Spinach Frittata with Spicy Tomato Sauce and vegetable accompaniments like Twice Baked Parmesan Potatoes and Sweet Potato and Parnsip Casserole. She also offers fun recipes for kids to make: Pita Pizza, Lasagna, and Macaroni and Cheese. And because everyone deserves dessert, there are Vanilla Cheesecake withFresh Berries, Peach Melba with Raspberry Sauce, Country Apple Pie, and more. |

Rosie Daley?acclaimed for her best-seller, In the Kitchen with Rosie?brings to it her innovative and highly flavorful spa cuisine. The recipes are eclectic, drawing from the healthy and delicious cooking of the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and Asia, among other cuisines. For starters, you might try Grilled Satay or a Miso PGtT; for soup, often a meal in itself, a hearty Mixed-Bean Minestrone Stew or a Roasted Winter Squash and Apple Soup with Cilantro Walnut Pesto; a special entrTe could be the Savory Roasted Cornish Hens with Roasted Garlic or Baked Spicy Tofu with Bean Thread Noodles, Corn, and Mango; for a simple supper, Turkey Burgers or Portobello Burgers; and for the occasional indulgence, a dessert of Almond Fruit Tart or Peach and Blueberry Cobbler. Weil: = how to make use of nutritional information in everyday cooking = what is organic . . . and how to buy organic foods = the importance of reading labels and what to look for = sensible advice about eggs, milk, cheese, salt, spicy foods, wine, coffee = the facts about sugar and artificial sweeteners . . . and from Rosie: = how to get kids involved?from skinning |
